IIt is now late April and the weather is now picking up after a bad winter.
Most of the migrants are back with the exception of the Swift, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs can be heard regularly from the shop with a Long Tailed Tit nesting in the hedge.
Buzzards are now seen daily from the shop along with displaying Sparrowhawks and the odd Kestrel, Red Kite and Peregrine.
The feeders are busy with Goldfinch,House Sparrows and the usual Tits which include Coal and a few sightings of Nuthatch also Voles, Rats and Mice are feeding below the feeders.
We are stocking Vanguard binos and scopes and also some new Hawke models. Opticron have a large range including the excellent DBA VHD from £579 and the Imagic VHD.
The new Opticron Traveller ED range is proving to be a really big hit.
In the compact range we have the Zeiss Victories in 8/10x25 which are a good match for the Swarovski compacts.
Swarovski and Zeiss at the top end of the price range are still dominating the market with the brilliant Zeiss SF and Conquests, Swarovski Field Pros and the excellent new CL companions. Also we have the new Nikon Monarch HG.
Midrange is dominated by Opticron,Hawke, Vanguard and our own Delta brand with the SL3 HD + being a best seller and a new Delta SL2 ED.
At the lower end of the price range the Opticron Discovery and Trailfinder and the Explorer ED are very good value for money products. And priced just above these are the new Opticron Naturas ED which are proving to be very popular.
At the moment at the top end of the spotting scopes are the Swarovski ATX/STX modular systems which offer unbeatable performance so far.
The cheaper Swarovski ATS/STS80/65 is still proving to be really popular the optics in these where upgraded from the earlier ATM/STM so offer excellent value for money.
Due in May is a Zeiss Harpia spotting scope with similar specs to the Swarovski ATX range,so the battle will then begin for the top scope posit
Mid price range is dominated by the Opticron ES80 4 ED.which as just been upgraded with a dual focusing wheel with rapid and fine.
For cheaper scopes Vanguard and Hawke are very popular.
Whilst with the small lightweight/travel scopes the upgraded Opticron MM4 range is by far the most popular.

Regards Dave and Bernie.
