Spring is fully underway with Avocet, Lapwing and Redshanks all nesting.
After cold slow start the arrival of migrant birds has livened up the
reserve no end with Yellow and White Wagtails present for over a week.
Likewise a male Whinchat was viewable from our shop. Swallow, Sand and
House Martins, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Whitethroat, Willow, Sedge and
Reed Warblers all arrived in the space of a week or so.
In recent years May has turned up some very good birds with Common Crane
and Montagus Harrier.
