View from Our Window
Some great birding in the past few weeks here at Martin Mere and the
prospect of even better times ahead as we move into autumn. Recent star
birds have included Purple Heron, a first for the reserve and Honey
Buzzard. Just to give you an idea of our viewing facilities we actually
managed to log 80 species of bird from our shop window over the past
4 weeks! With the autumn migration season fully under way we can expect
huge increase in geese numbers as well as plenty of raptor activity.
A great day out if you are coming along to test and purchase binoculars
and telescopes.

Digiscoping
The new Panasonic Lumix digiscoping kit is flying out at the moment.
This model has been upgraded to include a 12.1 mega pixel camera which
also films in HD. Using the excellent tried and tested DCC mount the
kit can be combined with most telescopes. The camera operations are
the simplest yet for those with techno-phobia! Call in for a demonstration.
